Proximal bezieht sich auf eine Lagebeschreibung, bei der sich eine Struktur nahe am Rumpf oder Ursprung eines Gliedes befindet. Es ist das Gegenteil von distal, das eine weitere Entfernung vom Rumpf beschreibt.
