Der Nervus olfactorius, auch Riechnerv genannt, ist der erste Hirnnerv und ist für das Geruchswahrnehmung verantwortlich. Er transportiert sensorische Informationen von der Nase zum Gehirn und ermöglicht das Erkennen und Unterscheiden von Gerüchen. Störungen dieses Nervs können zu einem Verlust des Geruchssinns (Anosmie) führen.
